A week at Iberostar JOIA Rose Hall, Jamaica
I spent a week at this adults-only Jamaican resort in March 2026 — right before it closed for a major makeover — and it left me already planning my return.
[fusion_dropcap class="fusion-content-tb-dropcap"]I[/fusion_dropcap] had the pleasure of spending a week at Iberostar JOIA Rose Hall in March 2026 as part of a birthday celebration for a friend. Our group consisted of four couples, and we had an amazing time together.
I’ll admit, I was a little apprehensive before we arrived because the resort was scheduled to close in June for a major refurbishment. I wondered if it might show signs of wear, but I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. The resort was in excellent condition, with beautifully maintained grounds and spacious guest rooms. Our room, including the balcony, was exceptionally large and very comfortable.
A butler in your pocket
We stayed in a room category that included butler service, which was a wonderful added touch. We communicated with our butler through WhatsApp, making it easy to request dinner reservations, ask for items to be delivered to our room, or simply check in throughout our stay. He was attentive without being intrusive and truly enhanced our vacation experience.

What’s changing at Rose Hall
The Iberostar Rose Hall complex is made up of three resorts. During our visit, JOIA Rose Hall was the adults-only (18+) luxury option, while the other two properties welcomed families and guests of all ages. As part of the upcoming renovations, Iberostar is also reimagining the complex. In addition to the complete refresh of JOIA Rose Hall, one of the neighboring resorts will become an adults-only property with a more budget-friendly price point, giving travelers even more options.
Why it’s a favorite
One of my favorite features of this resort is its beautiful stretch of beach. Add in multiple excellent restaurants, outstanding service, and a relaxing adults-only atmosphere, and it’s easy to see why this resort is a favorite.
I’m already looking forward to returning once the renovations are complete at the end of the year. If the resort was this impressive before its makeover, I can only imagine how spectacular it’s going to be afterward!
